Fuck that shit. Birds are dinosaurs, literally. They survived the fucking apocalypse for the rest of their order. Birds are BAD.ASS. And have you seen the chest muscles necessary to fly? I don’t give a fuck if some pro-anorexic folk have taken on teh purdy burdies as a symbol, birds are not appropriation-able! I mean, folks, come on—some people using some thing in some context is really not all that definitive.
I have to second the chest muscle thing. I dissected a pigeon once, and let me tell you, that chest was pure muscle and NOT easy to cut through.
