Did my taxes
Only getting back $3 from the feds and I actually owe money to the state this year. Not much, but still. Sad.
Ever heard a Red Panda vocalization?

Eeee!
So now I’m watching the Oscars like 2 hours behind everyone else.
Hi Christian Bale. You’re pretty.

The art of losing isn’t hard to master; so many things seem filled with the intent to be lost that their loss is no disaster. Lose something every day. Accept the fluster of lost door keys, the hour badly spent. The art of losing isn’t hard to master. Then practice losing farther, losing faster: places, and names, and where it was you meant to travel. None of these will bring...

I woulD HATE for this to happen. It doesn’t make sense, and it would require retconning on GRRM’s part to make it work, timeline-wise. And I hate retconning. Plus it would ruin Syrio’s lovable character if he weren’t the person we thought he was.
I don’t think it would necessarily require retconning, though I can’t remember how much...

Being told to think of Wolverine sticking his claws in someone when I throw my hook really helped improve my form on the jab-hook-hook combo tonight.

Nooo, don’t share the DC Comics job on the listserv, random person! I DON’T WANT MORE COMPETITION.
Also, before I realized it was from the listserv and I just read the subject line, I thought it was a response to my application already. False hope AND extra competition. Boooooooo.

I like getting email response from elected officials that I’ve contacted about various issues where it basically boils down to “I totally agree with you.” I mean, I know they’re form letters, but it’s nice to know.

greycatbrigade replied to your post: I FINALLY made a dentist appointment.
Me toooooo. What if the news is horrible? I hope your visit is pain-free and your teeth are all kinds of perfect.
I’m sure I’ll have at least a few cavities. I’m just hoping to avoid root canals or anything else scary.

I FINALLY made a dentist appointment.
Despite having dental insurance for the past 4 or so years, I have not actually gotten around to using it.
I haven’t been to the dentist in like 7 years. I’m terrified about what they’ll tell me.
It is cool, grey, and rainy today. Perfect weather for burrowing in bed. Only I’m at work. Boo.

Unfuck Your Habitat: A few words on perfectionism
unfuckyourhabitat:
Perfectionism is pretty much the enemy of unfucking your habitat. Perfectionism gives you a ready excuse to not do things. Perfectionism expects 100%, and will not accept anything less.
Here’s the thing. 15%, while not 100%, is still better than 0%. Doing something is better than doing nothing….

Increasing Minimum Wage Does Not Increase... →
jonathan-cunningham:
This was a 16 year study on a county-by-county basis. Rather than an increase in unemployment (as so many big business advocates and libertarians would have you believe), it did nothing to unemployment, but rather decreased employee turn over. The poorest people in those counties were better paid, had a higher standard of living and kept their jobs longer- all because the...

The eternal Thursday evening question (for me, anyway): to yoga or not to yoga?
I haven’t gone in about a month, and I can tell my flexibility is hurting because of it. But I’m also tired and my tummy hurts.

The DC job posting mentions an “Alfred database”. I’m hoping that’s an in-house system that they’ve established that’s named after the butler. I will be crushed to learn otherwise.

My head is kind of killing me. It’s very stuffy at work today.
I don’t really know how a job that requires me to do so little is so draining and frustrating, but it is. Blerg.
